PDRN and Ectoin: Shield-and-Repair Synergy for Stressed Skin

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) operates through an entirely different mechanism — it provides the raw materials and signaling for cellular repair and regeneration. When PDRN fragments bind to adenosine A2A receptors on fibroblasts and keratinocytes, they activate cAMP-PKA-CREB signaling cascades that upregulate collagen synthesis, extracellular matrix production, and anti-inflammatory cytokine profiles. Additionally, the nucleotide fragments from PDRN metabolism enter the salvage pathway, providing deoxyribonucleotide building blocks for DNA repair in cells that have sustained damage from UV exposure, pollution, or intrinsic aging processes.
